How Natura improves KPIs and teamwork while automating a complex, fast-evolving retail network

Thank you very much Jacek for being with us today. Could you maybe start by briefly presenting your company?

I work for Natura. Natura is retail company operating in beauty and personal care industry. We manage a large network of physical stores right now 200 stores in Poland as well as e-commerce and marketplace channels mostly in Allegro but also we start in Temu this year. In my role I’m responsible for supply chain planning and inventory optimalization. Our company is quite specific because we operate with very wide assortment about 15,000 SKUs with strong seasonality mostly on Christmas and also in repellent part also we have lot of promotion pressure and growing importance of private label and omni-channel sales.

What problems were you and your team struggling with before working with Nadii?

We struggled mainly with inventory accuracy and flexibility of planning. with 200 stores is hard to put the product right in the place where will be sold. Our previous solution were not precise enough in forecasting demand especially in the context of promotions and fast changing trends and also it was quite old. Most of our system is from late 2000s. The system was quite expensive and difficult to adopt to our evolving business model, like changing marketing campaigns and also we could notdevelop an omni-channel approach. That often resulted the overstocks in some stores and stock out in others which negatively implemented into both sales and working capital.

Why did you choose Nadii?

We decide to choose Nadii because we were looking for not only the software vendor but also a partner in business approach. I mean mostly in supply chain. Right now, we use Nadii not only in the logistic part but also in the budgeting/ financial part and, in the sales part, in the operations part. Nadii team demonstrated strong expertise in retail replenishment process and understood our operation challenges as well. We were also looking for advanced forecasting system based on AI and machine learning, that could match challenges with our marketing actions that can boost sales x10 from one day to another. That’s why we choose Nadii.

You have been working with several different systems in different companies before Nadii. What made Nadii stand vs other softwares / systems you’ve worked with?

Many tools what we looking for are very technical error … and very generic. I mean in our business we are looking for mostly to be specific in the retail part on the beauty channel and also Nadii managed to be both powerful and practical for everyday decision making. I mean for example it's implemented into our warehouse, and Nadii can for example adapt to the capacity of the day in case of issues. Also the ability to cooperate with Nadii team in order to adapt Nadii to our needs as part of our contract is a great advantage

How do you use Nadii at your company today? What are the different use cases you have?

Today Nadii is our replenishment and inventory optimalization system (daily automated / semi automated orders from suppliers and movements from warehouses/shops to shops).

It helps regulate stock levels across the whole network.

It’s used to classify our inventory and manage separately different categories like novelties.

It also manages product allocation between the stores (stock balancing).

Those are mainly use cases where we use the Nadii. Also we use it to support the planning of our own brands (private labels), collaborate with the suppliers and deliver visibility for them.

Finally, we use Nadii for internal coordination between, merchandising, logistics and finance.

I also forgot to mention about developing of the budget and planning layer what was already implemented in Nadii, and it’s really helpful to work every day in our business.

What concrete business benefits have you observed since using Nadii?

The most important part for us is the availability of the stock. Nadii enables us to increase the availability also while reducing overall inventory levels. It’s quite significant for our everyday working and has positive impact sales performers customer customers satisfaction and working capital efficiency.

We reduced our stock by almost 20 million Pln, and reduced also our DIO (average number of days a company holds inventory before selling it) and it has impact into our sales because if we are lower in the stocks we do not need to pay for our suppliers more money and also it’s easier to budget the next one. Having a forecast of sales and purchases in Nadii also help us create the different culture.

How does Nadii help the teamwork with top management and other departments?

I mean right now we have more data-driven culture, and it impacts our decision making. It mostly supports constructive discussion between operations team and top management and also supply chain. Right now we are more focused on KPIs and forecast. Right now we split our network into top stores and the lower stores. Thanks to Nadii we have GMROI , so we have information which stores are being profitable and have a sound stock vs sales balance, and also help us into the forecasting of our leaflet promotions, so we can communicate data to merchandising / operations so that they can better plan additional exposition inventory they want items into the stores, and avoid overstocks after the promotion.

What do you like most about Nadii’s features and the overall experience with Nadii?

The balance between automatization and control. I mean there’s the little part of parameters what we can change but it’s give the lots of difference in how we work and also the system provides strong recommendation but still allows planners to apply business judgments.

Who would you recommend Nadii to?

Based on our company I would recommend Nadii specialy to retail companies managing large store a large assortment with multi-channel sales.

The motorcycle business is very specific and highly seasonal. Nadii understood those specifics — and, more importantly, what they mean financially. That made a real difference and helped us save a significant amount of money.

Availability was a challenge for us, but not at any cost. We needed a system that understood how our business really works, while remaining transparent and controllable. The goal was not simply better availability — it was better profitability.
